About

About Eve

Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs. My own dogs, Stan, a rescue lurcher who was found wandering the street, and then Tricky, followed later by rescue greyhounds Harry and most recently Lucy, family dogs and any dogs I could find.

My ideal day out as a child was visiting our local dogs' home and taking a dog out for a walk which then followed with me begging my parents to adopt every single dog. I was always told "when you have your own house, you can have as many dog as you want!"

Fast forward 15 years, 14 foster dogs, 1 foster-fail and a scruffy puppy adoption here we are.

Since completing my studies in Dog Behaviour and Psychology I have been heavily involved in providing support and behaviour training for Greyhound Adoptions WA therefore continuing my interest and experience with the complex brains of rescue dogs.

Digging to the route cause of why a dog is showing particular forms of behaviour to then put together training plans focused around positive reinforcement is my main interest and I work hard with all my clients to ensure programs and training are specifically designed for every individual situation.

I enjoy explaining to and educating my clients around why dogs do what they do, and why their dogs may be exhibiting the behaviours they do and the reasoning behind the training we are doing and love helping the bond between owner and dog grow to be a solid partnership.

Why "Tricky Dog Training"?

Tricky Dog Training is named after my childhood dog, Tricky. (Treacle Pie, Pumpkin, Trixie, Tricky Dawg) He was the dog every little girl begs for, day in day out. Having Tricky from a 10-week-old puppy provided me with the bestest friend growing up. I learnt how to be patient, tested to the max and understand everything a dog has to offer. And ultimately, feel that love that is like no other.
Tricky was my ultimate adventure buddy often spending our Sunday's exploring around the English countryside, climbing trees and getting lost.
A play on words of Trickys' name, one of his many nicknames "Tricky Dog" and wanting to help all the other "Tricky Dogs" out there creating my logo with his paw print and collar colour's for my branding is why Tricky Dog Training is more than just a business name.
